When selecting the additive, particular importance was placed on aluminium protection due to the distribution of lightweight construction, among other things in solar plant construction, and the high level of sensitivity and demands of the material.

in the field of the manufacture of glycol-based

radiator antifreeze in Germany.

LONG-TERM CORROSION TEST - ASTM D1384*

For commercially available solar liquids and SZ SOLAR FLUID HT -30°C

*ASTM D1384 (American Standard of Testing and Materials) is a method enabling the fast, reliable assessment of the corrosion behaviour of heat transfer fluids. Various electrically conductive test metals joined to each

 

other (copper, brass, solder, aluminium, grey cast iron and steel) are exposed to a dilution of heat transfer fluid and

corrosive water for 336 hours with controlled air flow (6 litres per hour) at 88°C.

After the test, the change in weight for the test specimen is ascertained gravimetrically, which serves as a quality criterion for corrosion protection and the stability of the silicon content.
